Promotion of innovative urban solutions

Through hosting and participating in international conferences and actively welcoming tour and workshop visitors from overseas, we are widely promoting the know-how and infrastructural technologies in the urban development of City of Yokohama, Yokohama’s private firms, and universities.

From 2012, we have been organizing the Asia Smart City Conference (ASCC), an international conference that brings together representatives from cities in Asia, international organizations, academic institutions, and private sector. While sharing our visions and efforts for urban development, we also offer an environment and opportunities for exporting infrastructure related technologies.

Additionally, Yokohama’s sustainable urban development via public and private partnerships and its achievements in international technical cooperation are highly regarded abroad and have received various awards including a “Special Mention” at the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize 2014 awards.
