Since the establishment of Japan’s first water supply system in Yokohama in 1887, Yokohama Waterworks has continuously accumulated water supply technologies in multiple fields such as water purification, water quality analysis, distribution management and leakage prevention. In addition to advanced technologies, the bureau achieved the efficient operation such as pressure control based on block system reflecting topological features, and it also works on disaster risk reduction and sound business management.
Furthermore, the bureau contributes to improving water supply in other countries utilizing its technological capacity and knowhow.
